Email and collaboration security startup Perception Point Inc. has released a new web security solution that adds enterprise-grade security to native Chrome and Edge browsers.

The new solution, Perception Point Advanced Browser Security, combines a next-generation web isolation platform powered by Hysolate Ltd., a startup acquired by the company in March 2022, and Perception Point’s multilayer detection engines. The combination is said to deliver the unprecedented ability to isolate, detect and remediate all malicious threats from the web.

Perception Point Advanced Browser Security protects against threats such as phishing, ransomware, malware and advanced persistent threat groups. The solution also secures access to sensitive corporate apps via an isolated, trusted Chrome or Edge browser, preventing data loss by design on both managed and unmanaged endpoints.

The new solution can be simply deployed via a browser extension or a light agent on a PC or Mac and is managed from the cloud. There are no added cloud infrastructure or data center expenses.

Perception Point claims that customers who deploy the solution will experience fewer breaches and prevent data loss. Browser users also have an enhanced experience with the freedom to browse the web, use software-as-a-service applications that they require and access privileged corporate apps securely and without added latency.

In addition, Perception Point customers also receive a fully managed incident response service that manages all incidents and optimizes detection engines. The included service drastically reduces the need for security operations center team resources, reducing the time required to mitigate web-borne attacks by up to 75%.

“Our customers want to be able to leverage the latest standard browsers while significantly upgrading their web security to include better, deeper and earlier threat detection, built-in data loss prevention and strong threat isolation, all of which dramatically reduce the attack surface,” Tal Zamir, chief technology officer of Perception Point and former founder and CTO of Hysolate, said in a statement. “Perception Point Advanced Browser Security transforms the security of organizations’ Chrome and Edge browsers while supporting full compatibility with the web and the Microsoft and Google ecosystems, all without changing the way people work and without slowing them down.”

Perception Point was previously in the news in April 2021 when it raised $28 million in funding from Red Dot Capital Partners, NGP Capital, Pitango Venture Capital and State of Mind Ventures. The company has raised $48 million in venture capital funding to date.
